Chandra Graha Shanti

Chandra Graha Shanti is the jap anushthan of Chandra Dev, the graha the parampara holds as the lord of the mann, the mind and the emotions. It is sought when the mind will not rest: through anxiety, emotional unease, disturbed sleep, or a heaviness the family cannot name, and when an astrologer reads a weak or afflicted Chandra in the chart. The moon governs the inner weather, and his shanti is a prayer for calm. The parampara links Chandra to the mother, to water, and to the tides of feeling, and his shanti is often sought for a mother's well-being, for emotional steadiness in the household, and for peace of mind through a difficult passage. His day is Monday, his offering white, and the anushthan carries that coolness in every upachara.
