Ayushya Shanti Puja

Overview

What Is This Puja?

Ayushya Shanti Puja is the birthday rite of the parampara: the janma tithi observed not only with cake and candles but with the Ayushya mantras, recited for the longevity, health and well-being of the one whose year is turning. The rite is performed for children's birthdays, for milestone years, for elders whose each year the family counts as grace, and on the Hindu calendar janma tithi where the family observes it. The person whose birthday it is sits at the centre of the rite: the sankalp carries their name and birth details, the Navagraha are honoured with attention to the birth tithi as guided by the pandit, the Ayushya mantra jaap is recited over them, and the rite closes with the tilak and blessing of the elders and the first sweet fed by the family. At SiddhiStar, the puja is performed at home, or as an Online Puja with the pandit performing live from Narwar Dham while the family joins live from home. The base puja takes approximately two hours, with Hawan offered as an optional 30-minute add-on at booking.
SiddhiStar Note
The parampara has always kept birthdays, long before candles arrived. It kept them by tithi, not date, and it kept them with a rite: the child bathed and dressed new, the lamp lit, the mantras of long life recited over one small head while the whole family watched. Ayushya Shanti returns that shape to the modern birthday. The cake can stay. The blessing comes first.

Important Note

Ayushya Shanti Puja is the parampara's birthday rite, centred on the Ayushya mantra jaap for the person whose janma tithi is being observed. The family provides the birth details at booking so the sankalp and the tithi-attentive Navagraha pujan are performed correctly. The rite pairs naturally with a birthday gathering: families commonly hold the puja in the morning and the celebration after. Hawan is offered as a 30-minute add-on at booking.
