Baglamukhi Puja

Baglamukhi Devi, the eighth of the Dasha Mahavidya, is known in the parampara as Pitambara, the goddess robed in gold, and as the presiding shakti of the Brahmastra Vidya. Where other household pujas invite prosperity or protection, Baglamukhi Puja is a targeted shanti: it is performed when a family faces a specific opposing force, a prolonged dispute, persistent obstruction, or a phase where every effort seems to be held back by something unseen. The parampara teaches that this vidya makes the impossible possible, and it is invoked with that seriousness. The vidhi followed by SiddhiStar is the vidhi observed at Narwar Dham, where Baglamukhi Jayanti is conducted each year with the complete traditional krama. The rite opens, distinctively, with the dhyan of Shiva ji, from whom the vidya descends in the parampara's telling: from Sanat Kumar to Narad ji, and from Shiva ji to Parashuram ji, who gave it to Dronacharya, who taught it to Ashwatthama. The tradition recalls its power through the old accounts: Hanuman ji stilling the sun, Meghnath binding Hanuman ji, Angad's foot that no warrior in Lanka could lift. Stambhan, the power to halt what moves against you, is this Devi's grace. The puja moves through Shiva dhyan, sankalp naming the specific circumstance the family brings, the avahan of Baglamukhi Devi, panchamrit snan, full pujan with sindoor and sugandhit dravya, the archan of her 108 names, the namavali jap, bhajan and sankirtan in the Narwar tradition, and the hawan in which each of the 108 names is offered into the fire, closing with the special ahutis of the Brahmastra Vidya mantra. Unlike most SiddhiStar pujas, the hawan here is not an add-on. It is the culmination of the vidhi itself.
