Overview

What Is This Puja?

Griha Pravesh Puja is the traditional Vedic procedure by which a house becomes a home. Drawn from the Paraskara Grihyasutra and conducted across centuries in the North Indian Brahmin parampara, it is one of the sixteen Sanskaras of household life. The ritual moves through purification, sankalp, invocation of Ganesh ji and Varun Dev, propitiation of the Navagraha, the central seating of Vastu Devta and Panch Shilayen, the formal threshold crossing led by the housewife with a lit lamp, and the establishment of the Kul Devata and Lakshmi ji in the new home. Your gotra and Kul Devata are recorded at booking, so the correct invocation is performed. The puja is conducted at your home as Ghar Par Puja. The base puja takes approximately two hours, with Hawan offered as an optional 30-minute add-on at the time of booking. All SiddhiStar pandits are lineage-trained in the Narwar Dham parampara, and the full vidhi-vidhan - including Panch Shilayen placement and Vastu Devta sthapana - is conducted in one trained lineage tradition.

Opening sequence

Pavitrikaran & Achaman

The family's primary member is purified with sacred water and three sips of achaman, preparing the body and mind for the ritual.

Tilak & Rakshabandhan

Tilak is applied to the forehead and the protective mauli tied on the right wrist of the yajman. The mauli is the visible mark that the yajman is under the protection of the rite for its duration.

Dik Rakshan

Yellow mustard is offered to the four directions to secure the puja space from obstacles. The four directions are bound so that no negative force enters the consecrated mandala.

SiddhiStar Samagri Policy
The SiddhiStar Samagri Kit (Block 1) is offered as an optional add-on at booking. The family may choose to receive the kit at home before the puja date or arrange the Block 1 items themselves from a local kirana store or home delivery app. Either option is honoured equally; the kit is a convenience layer, not a ritual necessity.

Important Note

Griha Pravesh is conducted as Ghar Par Puja only. The Kalash, the chowki for deity sthapana, and the hawan kund (where the Hawan add-on is opted in) are arranged by the family on the day of puja. The ritual sequence may vary based on the pandit's reading of family gotra and circumstance.
