Saraswati Puja

Overview

What Is This Puja?

Saraswati Puja is the household deity rite dedicated to Saraswati ji - the goddess of learning, speech, music and wisdom. Most widely performed on Vasant Panchami in early spring, the puja is the family's way of placing children's education, the household's books and instruments, and the family's intellectual undertakings under her grace. The ritual moves through purification, sankalp, invocation of Ganesh ji, the central pujan of Saraswati ji with 11 paath of the Saraswati Stotra, the formal blessing of books and instruments, and the offering of yellow flowers and sweets. At SiddhiStar, the puja is performed at home, or as an Online Puja with the pandit performing live from Narwar Dham while the family joins live from home. Your gotra and Kul Devata are recorded at booking. The base puja takes approximately two hours, with Hawan offered as an optional 30-minute add-on at the time of booking.
SiddhiStar Note
In the parampara, Saraswati ji is the deity of the inner light - the one whose grace makes learning, speech and creativity possible. The Saraswati Puja is the rite where families consciously place education in her hands. The yellow cloth on the chowki, the saffron and turmeric tilak, the books arranged before the deity - every detail of the rite is the household's way of saying that learning is not merely a skill but a blessing.
