Sri Yantra Puja

The puja of the most sacred geometric form in the Hindu tradition - the Sri Yantra, the geometric body of Tripurasundari (Lalita Devi), performed to establish a permanent seat of abundance in the home or place of business.

Sri Yantra Puja

Overview

What Is This Puja?

The Sri Yantra is the most geometrically complex sacred form in the Hindu tradition - nine interlocking triangles (four pointing down, representing Shakti; five pointing up, representing Shiva) creating 43 smaller triangles, surrounded by two lotus rings and a square boundary. This geometry is not decorative - it is a precise map of consciousness, described in the Tantraraja Tantra as the physical body of Lalita Tripurasundari. The Soundaryalahari - the 100 verses composed by Adi Shankaracharya in praise of the goddess - contains multiple direct references to the Sri Yantra as the most complete seat of Shakti that can be established in the material world. Installing a properly consecrated Sri Yantra is described as equivalent to having the goddess herself residing in the home. The key word is 'properly consecrated.' A Sri Yantra without the correct Prana Pratishtha (life installation ceremony) is an artwork. A Sri Yantra with Prana Pratishtha by a purohit trained in the Sri Vidya tradition is a living presence. At SiddhiStar, all Sri Yantra pujas are performed by purohits who have received Sri Vidya initiation.
SiddhiStar Note
"The Sri Yantra is misrepresented in the commercial market - sold as a decorative object or a lucky charm. It is neither. It is a highly specific geometric-mantric system that requires proper initiation on the part of the performing priest and clear intent on the part of the householder. In the wrong hands or with wrong intent, the Sri Yantra does nothing. In the right conditions, it transforms the space it inhabits."
Primary Deities
Lalita Tripurasundari (Shakti aspect) as Sri Vidya • Lakshmi (wealth manifestation) • Ganesha (first)

1

Sri Yantra Selection & Purification

The specific Sri Yantra to be installed is purified - washed with Panchamrit and Gangajal before the ceremony begins.

2

The sankalpa for Sri Yantra puja follows the Sri Vidya tradition - it includes the specific dimension of the yantra (2D, 3D, or Meru) and its intended location.

Ganapati Puja

Ganesha invoked first.

4

Lalita Avahana

Lalita Tripurasundari formally invited into the Sri Yantra using specific Sri Vidya mantras (these are different from standard puja mantras).
