The Fourth Prahar Sankalp for Shatru Daman - What It Means to Bring This Intention Into Brahma Muhurta

In a four-prahar mahashivratri puja, each prahar carries different opportunities for the Sankalp. The first prahar's Sankalp opens the night. The middle prahars' Sankalps maintain it. The fourth prahar Sankalp - spoken just before Brahma Muhurta - carries particular weight.

For prayers of Shatru Daman (the neutralisation of enemies), bringing the intention into the fourth prahar Sankalp specifically is held by the tradition as the most potent timing.

Why the Fourth Prahar

The fourth prahar runs through the deepest hours of the night and into Brahma Muhurta - the hour before dawn. The atmospheric quality at this time is held by the mahashivratri jagran tradition as the most receptive of the entire night. The body has been awake long enough that the analytic mind has quieted. The deity, who has been receiving offerings since dusk, is most fully present.

A Sankalp spoken in this state carries differently than one spoken in the first prahar's relative wakefulness.

Why Shatru Daman Specifically

Shatru Daman prayers ask for the neutralisation of opposing forces - court cases, business rivals, hostile situations. These prayers benefit from being placed at the moment when the cosmic atmosphere is most receptive to interventions in established structures.

The fourth prahar sankalp mantra that names a Shatru Daman intention is, in the tradition's framing, asking the deity at the most concentrated moment of his receptivity to intervene in the most resistant kind of situation.

The Specific Mechanism

When the registered devotee's kamna includes Shatru Daman, the pandit at SiddhiStar Narwar Dham notes this and arranges for the Sarson ka tel abhishek (see Article 29) to occur during the fourth prahar specifically, with the Sankalpa Vakya reiterated as that abhishek begins. The mustard oil is poured during the most potent timing, with the most precise intention.

What This Means for Your Pooja

If you are facing a Shatru Daman situation and joining the SiddhiStar mahashivratri puja, indicate this clearly in your booking. The pandit will time the offering specifically for the fourth prahar. The rudra abhishek puja continues throughout, but the moment of greatest concentration for your specific prayer arrives in those final hours before dawn.

Book a Rudrabhishek at your home with our “Ghar Par Puja” service or “Online Puja” service. Every SiddhiStar pandit carries the knowledge of what they are conducting.
